435 by MJC the Photo Love Challenge ~ mQn Photography

I was so honored to be one of the 20 fantastic photographers chosen by Matilda Jane in their Photo Love challenge.  I was sent an adorable tunic (which my daughter wore to school today) to photograph from their 435 tween collection.  I love Matilda Jane such fun appropriate clothes for fresh, spirited and of course fashionable girls!  The theme is “It’s What’s in the Inside That Counts”  I had some ideas but I really wanted to showcase how fun MJ is too.  Here are quite a few I had to choose from.  Many thanks to all my friends who helped me make the decision on which one to ultimately send in.  You can view on Instagram #435bymjc, #photolove, #mqnphotography.  Enjoy!

Welcome to the Carnival ~ Matilda Jane Trunk Show Mini Sessions

Oh I have so much fun at these sessions!  Last fall we did one and I’m so honored that Kristine Hubbard (Trunk Keeper extraordinaire) asked me back this summer for a little Carnival theme this time around.  I was a bit bummed about the rain and bugs striking but we really didn’t let it rain on our parade!  Hope you enjoy the sneak peeks from the day!  All families involved can expect their private galleries on the 8th!  And stayed tuned for favorites on Facebook once the sessions wrap up!

For the Love of Lillipops

About a month ago, Lillipops announced that I was the winner of her spring fever contest. I was a little astonished to say the least, there were so many great entries from some amazing photographers. I was so excited. Anyway people who know me know my love for dressing my daughter (and son) in things that can’t be found at the local mall. Well with this contest I was going to get a super cute piece of clothing to photograph. Let me tell you, I’ll totally work for free clothes! But little did I realize that I was going to actually get two pieces! Mother and daughter matching skirts. These are so super cute, comfortable and flattering. Now the problem I didn’t think about was the need for an adult model; oops! So I braced the opportunity to get in front of my camera with my daughter. To say this is tricky was an understatement but we did have fun and my son was able to help out too.  I will say this, there is a reason I’m behind the camera instead of in front of it. Anyway without further ado I share with you these new fun skirts that should be in Lillipops shop very very soon! I hope you enjoy:

Lillipops Love

I’m so excited that I have to blog about a little contest that was held by a children’s clothing designer Lillipops. If you haven’t checked her stuff out you must leave my blog right away and check her out (but then please come back).  Those that know me know I LOVE shopping for my kids.  And I LOVE photographing the clothes they wear.  I swear I just buy (my daughter especially) stuff just to photograph it.  And half her stuff I wish came in my size!  In fact I have been known to convo children’s boutique’s on Etsy and ask if they could make something in my size.  Which brings me to the exciting news of the contest I was talking about earlier.  I submitted an image for the theme Spring Inspired to Lillipops.  I agonized over two completely different images and finally just went with one; I didn’t think I really had that much of a chance anyway because there were at least two other photographers that had entered as well and I admired their work.   But then when the drumroll announced little ol’ me, I couldn’t believe it!  I’m so excited not only because I get to photograph a couple of skirts for Lillipops but I get to keep them and they are a matching mother daughter set!  How cute are we going to look?  Well you’ll have to stay posted to get a glimpse but I’ll leave you with the winning image.  Does she not look like she’s got Spring Fever?
